The 34 international films of the 2018 POEFF celebrate the work of filmmakers from around the world – 11 different countries – on the themes of peace, nonviolence, social justice and eco-balance: films within the various modalities of peace genre. Berkeley Film Foundation Screening Series is back to the The New Parkway theater to present a Sneak Preview and post-screening discussion of "The Secret Fatwa", a documentary film uncovering the secret massacre of more than 4000 political prisoners in Iran. Combining testimonies with reenactments, ‘The Secret Fatwa’ recounts the unfolding of the 1988 secret prison massacre through the eyes of five survivors, from the day of the lockdown to the day they were released.
The screening will be followed by Q&A with the director Delnaz Abadi.
